ParkPal
ParkPal is an AI-powered app that helps community members access reliable, up-to-date information about San José-area parks. Users can upload a photo of a park sign, and the AI will identify the park and provide details such as accessibility features, fitness and playground amenities, hours, picnic areas, and more. An assistant feature also allows users to ask specific questions. The students used generative AI and official park data from the City of San José, making ParkPal more accurate than general tools like ChatGPT.

Aqua Alert
Aqua Alert is an AI-powered reporting app that allows users to quickly report water pollution, such as illegal dumping or litter, in real time. By uploading a photo, users enable the app to identify the location and type of pollution. The app then prepares a report for Valley Water’s database to alert the appropriate authorities and initiate cleanup.

Flow: HR Valley Agent
Flow is an AI-powered HR agent designed to strengthen employee relations and reduce operational inefficiencies for Valley Water, the Santa Clara Valley Water District. Employees can use the HR chatbot to quickly get answers to common questions, eliminating the need to email live staff. HR professionals can access a portal that provides analytics from chatbot interactions and AI-generated recommendations on which benefits to highlight in future communications.

HomeFinder is an AI-powered platform designed to help housing placement specialists match displaced individuals and families with suitable Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) sites. The tool allows case workers to input basic resident information and receive AI-generated site recommendations based on their needs and priorities.
